The village is peaceful, though the church bells did wake us at 7 a.m. The house is cool and small but cozy, so you need to be a bit adaptable. Bedrooms are upstairs, reached by very worn stairs that feel dangerous, and there’s a low, small doorway between floors. The downstairs bathroom has no bidet. It could also use a little more cleaning.

It’s a beautiful spot, especially in summer. I even went swimming and, naturally, brought a change of shoes. The easy path gets you to the river, and from there you can climb back to the waterfall by crossing the riverbed. The path to the waterfall on the cistern, unfortunately, is impassable.

A food truck carrying baked goods stops at the door every morning, which is a nice touch. The property has all the essentials, and the terrace view is breathtaking. Great choice if you want a quiet stay in Bolognano.

I’ll be back. The terrace looks out over the local canyon, and there are relaxing walks where you can take in pristine nature, good food, and fine wine. The B&B is clean and the welcome is kind, with a relaxing landscape and none of the city noise and chaos.

It feels welcoming and familiar, and it’s peaceful too. The starting point for the path is just 50 meters away. Follow it for a bird’s-eye view of the whole Orta River valley before heading down to the waterfalls.
