Hotel Master

It’s fine for a one-night stay, and the hotel has its own parking. From there, you can walk to Brescia’s historic center in about 10 minutes, with the castle close by. The location is very good. Some parts of the building, like the door frames, furniture, and walls, are worn, and you can tell the place isn’t new. A few improvements could make it a great hotel.

The fitness center was decent for a quick warm-up before heading back out to explore, and breakfast was pretty standard for a four-star hotel. It’s about a 20-minute walk into the city center. I’d searched Agoda for a place near central Brescia with a pool and fitness center, and Master Hotel came up. At check-in I asked again about pool hours, then found out using it costs 35 euros per adult. I was surprised. Was Agoda missing the details, or had the hotel not provided all the information? When I asked why there was a charge, one customer service representative just said it was “private,” while another staff member said it was a paid facility. I’ve never had to pay to use a pool at a 4-star or 5-star hotel 🤷🏽‍♀️ The room was cold and had no blankets out. I found one in the closet, but there were no sheets with it and no bottled mineral water.

We spent two nights in the wellness suite, and it was a really disappointing stay. For what I paid, the room didn’t feel like a suite at all, apart from having a jacuzzi and sauna. The photos attached to this review show how poor the room quality was. There was limescale on the bathtub tap and in the shower, dust on the nightstand, a yellow toilet brush, damaged sinks, curtains and wall, and woodwork in the bathroom that was ruined. I asked for part of the price back. They only offered a voucher for 40% and said that, aside from the dust and limescale, the other issues weren’t discomforts for the stay. If the room quality had matched the price of a suite, those things wouldn’t have been an issue.
