The grounds and the old Tuscan house in the countryside are lovely to look at, but the place is being run so badly. It’s a shame such good infrastructure is managed this way by Stefano and barely kept going by Mr Dario. Stefano could be the nemesis of king Mida: if he touches gold, it turns to stone or dirt. I’d only been here two hours when the experience was already awful. The service was among the worst I’ve had, and I’d never recommend this place. The owner's son, Stefano, seemed careless and uninterested in anything we said. Trying to reach an understanding was pointless. He just repeated himself like a broken record, and seemed helpless. He’s rarely around, apparently avoiding interaction because guests are likely to complain or ask for something. The Wi-Fi wasn’t stable or reliable. We were told to go into the garden, but it didn’t help much. Our fridge sounded like a tractor, a plug in the room had been broken for who knows how long, and the shower was barely holding together. There was a gap that caused flooding every time we showered, and it was difficult to keep the shower steady. Breakfast was a little poor on the first day. After we spoke to Mr Dario, Stefano’s father, it improved, and from the next day we got a much better breakfast with more local options. Mr Dario was the one positive part of the stay. He’s a nice man, and if you speak Italian, you can have a few funny, pleasant chats with him. There was a worm in the bed, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything since we’re in the countryside and these things can happen.

A lovely, relaxing place with cosy rooms, a great pool, and friendly service. The nearby traffic is a bit bothersome, though.

The service was almost nonexistent, and I’d come back only if I planned things better. Still, it’s a beautiful property, with a pool and rustic apartments of different sizes in separate one- and two-storey houses. It’s surrounded by greenery, but the nearest town is almost a kilometre away, and the supermarket is 10 kilometres away. Despite that, I’d rate it positively.

Terrifying. There was dirt and both live and dead flies. Sure, we’re in the countryside, but you can’t just wing it like that.
