Appartamenti Soperga

For about €300 for two nights, I expected better cleanliness and staff training. There was visible dust on the sheets, and both my boyfriend and I felt very itchy as soon as we lay down. We were worried there might be bed bugs, though we couldn't know for sure. The room also left us uncomfortable because of the way the problem was handled. We politely asked the front desk if we could change rooms. The staff member raised his voice in the lobby and kept asking why we hadn't come down sooner. We'd only left our luggage in the room, gone to dinner, and reported it as soon as we noticed the issue. He also kept asking whether we'd used the bathroom, which had nothing to do with the sheets. He agreed to move us only after we mentioned bed bugs, and continued lecturing us about our “attitude” even though we'd been respectful. Being spoken to that way in front of other guests felt hostile and dismissive, and made us uncomfortable, as if we were being treated differently. His wording was impolite and unprofessional, and he wouldn't give his name when we asked. We left very disappointed. This wasn't the hospitality we expected.

Being close to Milano Centrale FS is a real plus. Still, the room I was given didn't feel up to a three-star rating. Afterward, I stayed at a three-star hotel in another Italian city that exceeded my expectations, which made the difference stand out even more. Sadly, I wouldn't stay at the Soperga again.

The view over the street isn't anything special, though that's what you get with a city hotel. I think it's decent value for money. Service was smooth, and the receptionist was kind and cooperative.

The room was spacious enough and clean, with good quality sheets and towels. There were a few stains on the carpet, but it didn't seem dirty. Staff were friendly and efficient, and I thought the hotel was good value and would recommend it. It's easy to walk from here to the train station and Milan's tourist sights. We skipped breakfast and found other places to eat without any trouble.
