Falconara Greenblu Resort

We felt the five-star treatment from the minute we arrived. Every team, from reception and housekeeping to the kitchen, went out of their way to make the stay great. The food was outstanding, especially the vegan options. The chef even made fresh vegan croissants for breakfast, which was such a nice touch. The gardens were lovely and well kept. We spotted rabbits playing in the grass, adding to the quiet, almost magical feel, and the sea views were breathtaking. The room was enormous, almost like a private apartment, and the cleaning staff kept it immaculate, refreshing it whenever we went out. It really felt like a little piece of paradise, and we can’t wait to come back.

The view and setting are beautiful, which makes the poor management a real shame. Staff seemed inexperienced and unsure of what they were doing. We paid for a large room, then were moved to a smaller one because ours wasn’t ready or clean. The restaurant itself is nice, but the lunch and dinner menus have very limited choices, and service was just so-so. Our room’s bathroom wasn’t very clean, with odd spots on the walls and curtains, and there was no internet connection in the rooms we had. For such an expensive place and room, it wasn’t worth the price.

The place and its setting have plenty of potential, but for the price you can probably find better. Greenblue took it over and renovated a little, though some things are still old or not working. Staff seemed inexperienced and not well trained. Even though we speak Italian, no one explained what the resort offered, gave us a map, knew the dinner menu, mentioned the Pizzeria right across the road, or told us the spa rules. The spa costs an EXTRA 20 EUR per person. The spa manager, though, was super professional. We didn’t end up using it. The pool wasn’t clean, or had turned GREENBLUE 😜, and somehow the cleaning machine wasn’t running. Breakfast was okay by international standards, but nothing special.

The staff are friendly and speak English. Breakfast was okay, though it was the same every day. The beach photos are misleading: there are lots of rocks, it’s hard to get into the water, and the water is dirty and full of plants. If you’re coming for a swimming holiday, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Bushes behind you mean insects on the beach, and we even found ants in our room and bed.
