The First Musica - Preferred Hotels & Resorts

The location is excellent, with the main sights within walking distance and a beautiful promenade along the river. The rooms are fairly new, though the lower floors look out onto road construction, which isn't ideal. The pillow menu is a nice extra. Breakfast had plenty of choice and the breakfast room and Alto restaurant both have amazing views. I do wish they had a printed menu for the à la carte options. It'd make choosing easier, and not every guest knows they can order extra dishes. The best part of the hotel, though, is the staff. Everyone is friendly, willing to help, and remembers the details.

For our 3-night European honeymoon, we picked The First Musica because of its 5-star rating and consistently strong reviews. Some parts fell short of what we'd expected for a 5-star stay, especially the rooftop bar and restaurant, which felt noticeably dated in their furnishings and atmosphere. Breakfast was fairly average too, without the variety or quality we expected at this level. With the price in mind, we didn't feel the hotel offered the refinement or value we were looking for, and we're unlikely to return. The room was well appointed and up to the standard you'd expect from a hotel in this category. There were a few small issues at the start, but staff dealt with them promptly, which we appreciated. At arrival, the receptionist and concierge were courteous and clearly interested in our plans and preferences for Rome. The check-in took close to 40 minutes before we were shown to the room. We understood the good intentions, but after a long journey it felt excessive, and the process could be streamlined.

The staff made our anniversary visit in November 2025 unforgettable. They looked after us from the moment we arrived, were always attentive and ready to help, and made nothing feel like too much trouble. Their restaurant suggestions really enhanced our time in the city. The location was perfect too, with everything we wanted to see and do easy to reach. We felt spoilt throughout, and the team set a very high bar for future trips. We couldn't have picked a better place for the occasion and can't wait to return.

Ahmed and Dana were so hospitable and made sure I had a wonderful time. The hotel went out of its way to tailor my short trip, booking restaurants, putting together day plans, and arranging my transportation ahead of time, all without me asking. Amazing hospitality and service. Highly, highly recommend.
