Agriturismo Solasna

The room was cozy and really nice, and we had a very good holiday in Solasna. Everyone was kind and offered plenty of advice about places worth visiting. We enjoyed the good, healthy food too. Portions were on the small side, though you could ask for more.

The farm behind the inn was a big hit with the kids. They could see and interact with lambs, ducks, and chickens, and Galileo, the resident mule and mascot, seemed much loved by the guests’ children. Nicoletta and Lisa were great with kids. We’ve stayed here twice: my wife and I spent four days here three years ago, then my son and I returned from May 14th through May 18th 2016. Nicoletta and Lisa treated us like family and took care of everything we needed. I was so impressed that when I told friends about the place back home, I sounded like I was doing an advertisement. The meals were delicious, authentic Italian cooking made with fresh local ingredients, a nice change from pizza Margheritaa and spaghetti. Our rooms were clean and airy, and my wife especially appreciated how sparkling the bathrooms were. It takes a little extra effort to find this inn, but the scenery, the owners’ warmth, and its old-world charm made it worth it. If you’re near Trento in northern Italy, it’s a lovely taste of Italy’s past, even if it isn’t a typical stop for American travelers. My wife and I are planning to come back in December, and we can’t wait to share an espresso with Nicoletta and Lisa.

We had a great time at the Italian cooking workshop for kids. The hosts, the setting, the food, all of it was wonderful. We’ll definitely come back, and I’d absolutely recommend it.

We stopped for lunch, three of us, including someone with a disability. The staff, who I assume were the owners, welcomed us warmly and found us a comfortable table on the veranda. The place is beautiful, with a home-away-from-home feel. It’s simple and informal, but there’s care in the details. The kitchen looked like an ordinary home kitchen at first glance. What stood out most was the calm atmosphere: no shouting or frantic chef, and that ease seemed to carry through to the food. The dishes went beyond what I expected. It’s simple, home-style cooking, and honestly, really delicious, the sort of food grandma made best and nobody could quite copy. I’d highly recommend eating here if you want a very good meal and a peaceful place to enjoy it.
