Il Sole e la Margherita

We chose Il Sole e la Margherita for the quiet Sicilian countryside, with orange and olive trees around us but restaurants and coastal amenities close by. It was just right for that, with Cefalu’ about a 15-minute drive away and Lascari’s bakery, butcher, supermarket, bank, and other services around five minutes away. The bread from the bakery was incredible. Campofelice di Roccella and the less touristy beaches at Capo Playa in Lascari are under ten minutes by car. The farm building has been converted into rustic apartments, with a pool tucked among fig, lime, orange, and olive trees. You get sea views one way and sweeping mountain views the other, a lovely setting to slow down in. Each apartment has a balcony or terrace for sitting, eating, or taking in the scenery. Our apartment was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and well equipped, with comfortable beds, air conditioning, and a Mediterranean feel in the finish and furnishings. We arrived at midnight and still got a lovely welcome from the owner. When she found out I’m fond of Sicilian coffee, she’d offer me an espresso whenever she saw me. For a stay around Cefalu’, Il Sole e la Margherita is a great way to enjoy this part of the countryside and have an authentic Sicilian experience.

Growing up in Sicily, staying here made me feel right at home again. The accommodation is lovely, clean, and well equipped, and the location is perfect. If you need a place to stay, this is it!

The swimming pool is nice and the area feels relaxed. Our room, though, really needed renovating. The other apartments seemed to be in better shape.

A peaceful place to get away from city life and unwind. The rooms are clean, the pool is nice, and the surroundings are serene.
