Camping Riviera

Poor drainage left puddles that flooded our tent and sleeping bags when a major storm hit. We had to leave the campsite early, at 18:00, and get a hotel. The showers and other facilities were below average too. We’re two students, and in that difficult situation we expected some basic understanding. The owner showed no empathy, seemed focused only on the money, and even reacted aggressively when my girlfriend politely asked how to pay. Though we couldn’t stay the night because of what happened, he charged the full €56. We offered half as a goodwill gesture, but he refused. Very disappointing.

The facilities are great, but it’s expensive and the staff were rude to guests. I heard an elderly man ahead of me in the queue complain about the Wi-Fi and get a really rude response. The Wi-Fi itself wasn’t working well either. There was a rave a few blocks away until 2 a.m., then someone set off fireworks on the beach. If you want to get some rest, this isn’t the place. I’d planned to stay a few nights, but after some of the worst sleep I’ve had in Italy, I moved on.

The lodge was new and had everything we needed, and we had a great stay in it. We were lucky if we wanted evening sun, since that depends on getting a decent spot. The camping area is very green, with a shop and restaurant on site for daily needs. But the camping and lodge pitches are very small, and there’s little to no place for kids to play. The focus seems to be on fitting in as many camping spots as possible, which I guess is fine.

Reception staff weren’t nice, and the sanitary facilities are old, though the campsite itself is pretty and the location is beautiful. I was on the side near the club, where the noise pollution is really bad. I don’t understand how the club is allowed to be this loud every week. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have booked here.
