We were seven friends looking for somewhere to stay for a weekend in July 2021. We planned the trip on the spur of the moment, and this was the only hotel that could take all of us. The mixed reviews had made us a little wary, but we ended up really liking the place. It's clean, the staff are friendly, and the price is more than fair. It's obviously not a Ritz Carlton, but we'd come back. Personally, I did miss having AC.

The rooms were okay and the bathrooms had good equipment, but we didn't feel welcome. When there was a heating problem in our room, the staff handled it very impolitely. The service felt awkward.

I spent a week here in winter and was comfortable, with a warm room and friendly service. A second cappuccino at breakfast was no problem, and there was fresh fruit that I could take back to my room. Parking is right outside, and there's a supermarket in the building. I've known Cannobio since 1965, but this was my first stay at the hotel. If you don't need anything fancy, del Fiume is a great fit. You can walk everywhere, from the river to the restaurants on the piazza. Anyone who likes a good breakfast and friendly service should feel at home. I'd gladly stay again.
