Hotel Maregolf

There’s plenty of friendly staff around, so we never had to wait, and it was nice that there were no hidden costs. Towels, beach loungers, and sunshades were all included. The food is buffet style, which works well with kids, and the quality is quite reasonable. After a week, though, it gets a little repetitive, especially on full board. The rooms are practical, clean, and designed for convenience. They’re quiet, the air conditioning is quiet too, and you can use the toilet without waking your partner. Some rooms have connecting doors. There’s a large pool, a sandy beach with reserved spots 200 meters away, and kids’ activities that aren’t overdone. The small amusement park nearby is a nice extra. Despite Golf being in the hotel name and a course next door, I didn’t see any golfers. It feels much more “mare” than “golf.” The location is somewhat remote, though there are good bus links to Caorle, which is worth visiting, and it’s also reachable by bike on the many cycle lanes. Venice is less convenient, requiring a bus and boat or a two-hour bus ride. This is northern Italy, so it doesn’t get as hot as farther south. The hotel has a large car park for 5 euros a day, with one charging station that was always available. At Lido Altanea, there’s a supermarket 100 meters away, a small mall 400 meters away, and a tourist train for getting around. The whole area is owned by one company, Lampo. One thought for the owner: swap the key operated valuables safes, which require a 20 euro deposit, for code locks. A safe isn’t much use if you have to carry its key to the beach or leave it at reception.

A good family hotel with a large pool and plenty of sun loungers. The food was simple but tasty, and there’s free WiFi and parking. Shops and grocery stores are close by. The beach is also nearby, with two reserved chairs and an umbrella for each room. Our room felt a little small for two adults and two kids, especially with the sofa bed.

The people working here are friendly, and the rooms are clean and look comfortable. There’s a pool, and the long, clean beach is about 300 meters away on foot. Around the same distance away, there’s a large range of sports activities, plus a big outdoor theater with shows for kids and parents. You can also play golf beside the hotel, though that isn’t organized by the hotel. The area and hotel are beautiful, and it was a good stay overall. The food quality is fine, but there isn’t much choice, the menu repeats every week, and the all-inclusive offering feels limited.

The green blankets on the beds disappointed me. They were really old and worn, and could easily be replaced. Otherwise, it’s a quiet, pleasant hotel with friendly staff, a nice pool, and the beach just 200 meters away.
