Perdepera Resort

The cleaning staff were the best part of our stay. They did a great job. The rest was a major letdown. In the room, the air felt damp and smelled bad, everything seemed badly outdated, and the supposed “double/king” bed was two beds pushed together. I kept sinking into the gap between them at night. There was no kettle, so even for a cup of tea we had to walk to the bar. The phone instructions for reaching reception were pointless too, and I wondered why the phone was there at all. The place looked nice in the pictures, but close up, the rooms, infrastructure, poolside chairs, key, and chip card system all seemed 20-25 years old. The gate looked like it had been there since 1998. Having separate key and chip card systems was ridiculous; one card for everything would make more sense. The food was another level of cheap. We tried the dinner buffet once and found it disgusting. The beef entrecôte was so thin it was nearly see-through, the vegetables had no taste, and the pizza was paper-thin with the cheapest toppings. The buffet is all you can eat, which might suit you if you hate your life, but I'd rather go hungry. Breakfast never had any variety, and the food quality seemed about as low as it could get. Even my dog eats better than what they served. The sunny-side-up eggs made to order were the one decent thing. We had arranged with the receptionist before breakfast for the cart to pick up our luggage at 11:00, but it didn't come on time. We walked halfway to the parking area before it showed up. This “resort” is a good example of what Italy has become. Everything looks appealing in the photos, then you get there and realize how old, smelly, and terrible it is.

The staff were very slow to answer on WhatsApp, and during working hours we waited around 10 hours for a reply. The manager was rude and arrogant, and made very poor decisions. For a hospitality business, that level of communication and service is unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone expecting respectful treatment and proper replies.

The compound and beach are nice, but we left feeling disappointed, and I still remember that feeling more than half a year later. We visited in the second half of April during nice weather, yet none of the beach or sports activities prominently promised on the website were available. The only activity was beach volleyball, and someone complained about our little son touching their volleyballs. Service was poor from the start. Reception felt cold and gave us hardly any information, seeming mainly interested in charging us. If I hadn't asked, we would have been expected to carry our luggage about 800m from the parking area to the house ourselves. On our last day we had to leave early for our flight. We asked for a lunch package instead of the breakfast buffet, and whether we could have coffee before leaving. We were told rather rudely that coffee wasn't possible with a lunch package. In the end, we got neither, even though we'd paid for breakfast that day. After the stay we wrote to management and got no response. Our safe also broke and wouldn't open, so they had to cut it open with our valuables still inside. We also didn't get our deposit back.

The food was the highlight for us. Every meal was delicious and full of flavor. We also found the rooms beautifully designed and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The hotel has a wide range of amenities, with options for both quiet downtime and socializing. We could relax by the sea, hike in the nearby mountains, or unwind in the warm hotel pool. It was a great place to recharge and explore, and we'd go back in a heartbeat. We wholeheartedly recommend Perdepera Resort.
