At Al Borgo in Casale Sul Sile, the specials on the board were all 9 euro, pizzas were 4.5, and glasses of wine cost 2.5 each. The menu also had the pizzas they’re known for, antipasta starters, and hamburgers. I went with tortellini with boar and mushrooms. I could have had a little more, but it tasted very good. Someone else ordered a good cheese pizza, and another person tried ravioli with chocolate powder to darken it and an orange-flavoured cheese sauce. It was unusual, but not bad. We had a great dinner, and I’d highly recommend the place.

I wouldn’t bother with this place. I arrived late in Venice and they simply refused to let me in. I ended up having to sleep on the street, something I’ve never experienced in more than 30 years of travelling. I’d told them in a message that I would arrive late, but they ignored it. They could have told me then to arrange somewhere else. The owners’ angry replies to unhappy clients make me think they should close the accommodation and stick to their burger business downstairs. LOCANDA AL PONTE STELLA should be removed from every app or site advertising its accommodation. I hope the owners never have to sleep on the street as I did. FOLLOW-UP (18/07/2022): The property’s reply shows that the owners still refuse to accept any responsibility for my having to spend the night on the street. I have irrefutable evidence that I informed them in writing more than 10 days before arrival that I’d be landing in Venice at 22:55. It’s physically impossible to get off a flight and reach a property 15km from the airport in five minutes. I DEMAND A FULL REFUND! I’ll definitely take this further, and the property should expect to hear from my attorneys in the coming days!
