The staff were VERY NICE and HELPFUL, and the location is a real plus. Even so, I can’t consider this a 4-star hotel. It wasn’t well maintained during my stay, and work was going on while the pool was drained for painting. I’d asked and paid for a sea view room for four nights. Booking prices were lower than what they offered me, and room 301, which I was given, had no sea view because trees covered the whole outlook. I wouldn’t recommend it. The garden area, which seemed unused, was neglected too, and the TV was tiny, about the size of a purse. The alarm system above the bed was covered with a paper towel or something. After my first night I asked to move, since I’d paid for and requested a sea view. The receptionist said they sell that room as sea view, which I don’t think is right when I could see the view myself. I would have expected a much lower rate for that room. Thankfully, a couple of hours later I was moved upstairs to the top floor, where I enjoyed the sea view for the remaining three nights. The cleaning women were very nice and helped with the move. But on the first night in the new room, I found stained towels and two lights that didn’t work. I had to run downstairs with a towel and ask reception to replace it, without even getting an apology. The next morning I returned the other stained towel, which had a hair on it, to the cleaner and asked her to change it. I was also told there’d be a parking spot for me. When I arrived, four cars were parked there, and I was told two belonged to the owners and wouldn’t be moved. I scratched my car while maneuvering because outsiders had parked there too. The next day I was blocked in by customers coming and going from the beauty salon downstairs. The gate also wouldn’t close at night, so anyone could come and go. I was very disappointed. I feel bad saying it because the staff were so nice, but as a traveller who spends money, likes trying new places, and prefers booking directly so hotels don’t lose website commissions, I can’t see myself returning. Breakfast had very few options. Since there’s no kitchen in the hotel, they didn’t make scrambled eggs. There were only a couple of savoury choices, two types of cold cuts left on an unrefrigerated plate, definitely not fresh, and the boiled eggs were always cold. The cornetti were the only good thing. The woman working in the morning was kind and patient. I know I’m not an easy client to deal with, but for what I paid, it wasn’t worth it. The beach isn’t connected to the hotel, so you have to cross the street and walk down stairs. The view there is beautiful and there’s good space, but other people who aren’t hotel guests use it too. I don’t see that as a negative, but it should have been explained better before booking. I asked to add a night when I arrived and was told they were full. Then I heard a receptionist selling the night I’d requested over the phone. The day before I left, they offered it for 180€ and said I’d have to change rooms. I declined and went to a proper 4-star hotel across the street instead. If you can afford it and want a perfect vacation, I recommend Madonnina hotel across the street. You’ll pay more, but the facilities and services make it worthwhile. The property is on another level, a real 4-star.

My room had all the essentials, including a fridge, TV, hairdryer, and private terrace, and everything was spotless. The staff were incredibly kind and gave me useful tips for exploring the island. Breakfast had a good variety of sweet and savoury choices. I was surprised by the negative reviews, as I think this hotel deserves five stars. The only drawback was that I visited in the off-season, so the pool and private beach weren’t available. Everything else was perfect.

Five people in our group of nine left on day one. I wish I had gone too, but I’d already unpacked. This was the worst hotel booking I’ve ever made. The hotel feels neglected and worn out, with dated rooms and equipment that doesn’t work. The AC blew hot air from the first night. When I complained, I was told it had been fixed, though nothing changed. They said AC in Italy doesn’t get cold like it does in America, which made no sense when my mom had freezing AC at the hotel next door. I also saw two fans at reception, one aimed at the receptionist, but they wouldn’t lend me one. Staff were rude and unhelpful, and acted as though guests were the problem. After 9pm nobody works or helps, so you’re left on your own. Dinner was so bad on the first night that I never ate there again, despite having prepaid for meals. Breakfast wasn’t good either. The staff’s attitude was awful, though not every person was like that. They don’t seem to care about the guests or the property.

Nothing here seemed to work properly, and when I raised a problem, the answer was simply that nothing could be done. The bathrooms smelled awful, the sheets had a damp smell, and the air conditioners were broken. The place also felt neglected. Service was terrible, with one person doing everything: reception, cleaning, breakfast, and the rest. The excuse for the sheets was always “the laundry,” followed by the same claim that nothing could be done. This hotel was absolutely not worth staying at.

The beach keeps being closed, and reception never gives any information about it. Breakfast is awful, the AC doesn’t work, and there were ants in the room.
