Antichi Casali

We stayed as a couple for three nights. The rural setting is beautiful, well cared for, and peaceful, and our room was clean, if a bit small. The manager was very nice and friendly, with no complaints there. It was very hot, and there was no air conditioning. A fan helped somewhat, but we had to leave it running overnight for two days. One evening there was no hot water, and the bathroom had shower gel and shampoo bottles that were only half full. We also had no towel or sheet changes during our three days. A little more attention to service details would have been welcome, even something as simple as having two glasses in the room.

We spent a genuinely carefree two weeks here, away from the usual daily grind. The terrace has a spectacular view, and the apartment feels properly old-fashioned while still having every comfort. Massimo is friendly and easy to talk to, and knows how to put you at ease. A pleasant stay I’d happily repeat.

The grounds are lovely, but our one-night stay was a disappointment. It was unbearably hot in the room, around 40°C, and we spent the night in the garden. There was no window, and we couldn't leave the door open because it had no screen. We also had no hot water for a shower, toilet paper, TV, or mini-fridge, not even a bottle of water. I won't stay here again.

We stayed three nights in the spacious, comfortable Morellino apartment, which had everything we needed. Massimo and Paola were friendly and ready to help. The two beautiful stone farmhouses sit in peaceful countryside with stunning views, and the location made it easy to explore Mount Amiata from both the Grosseto and Siena sides.
