Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido

The hotel itself is quite nice, and everyone there is super nice. My main issue was getting my child to ski when I didn’t want to ski myself. They advertise a local ski school arrangement and a shuttle for the children, but the shuttle isn’t guaranteed. I was told it was fully booked, so I had to take my child to class myself every day. It took about an hour from the hotel to class: a 15-minute drive to the base, a gondola ride of about 15 minutes, plus ski prep and lots of walking. Just dropping off by gondola cost 25 EUR if I came down on skis, but that means using black pistes only, or 35 EUR to return by gondola. The trip back to the hotel took me 45 minutes, and pickup in the afternoon meant doing it all again. Today that took more than 3.5 hours of my day and cost 50 EUR. Dinner could be more like a self-service buffet. Apart from salads, you have to ask someone to prepare and serve most of the food. The hotel apologized profusely and went above and beyond to make up for the bad part of our stay. I said I don’t write reviews to get anything in return, but they insisted and gave us a large discount when we paid the bill. They also said they’d talk to the ski school to help make sure this doesn’t happen again, and told me it had never happened with another guest before. That doesn’t change the point of my original review.

Stefano, the waiter, is so helpful and nice, always helping us a lot. We’re really happy to be here. It’s a fantastic hotel with loads for kids to do and perfect food. Highly recommend!

Over the May 1st long weekend, the kids’ activities were so well organized that our children, aged 11 and 8, happily kept us at the Falkensteiner. We hardly felt a need to go out. Everyone was warm and attentive, from reception to the restaurant and animation team. Highly recommended for families.

The kids are kept busy with so many activities they won’t want to leave, while parents can enjoy the quiet areas and greenery. The staff are super friendly with children and always ready to help. For a nice view, try to get a room on an upper floor. Ground floor rooms can be a bit tricky for kids to reach by themselves.
