We loved the pool and beach. You can stroll along the coast, swim in the clear water, use floaties, and bring drinks down to the shore, with the Amalfi coast and Capri in the distance. One day the lifeguard even brought out extra chairs when the beach filled up and a couple needed somewhere to sit. Breakfast ran from 8-10:30am and had yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, croissants, homemade jams, hard-boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, and more. They also brought cappuccinos around. A heartier extra, like an omelet, cost about €4-8, but we didn’t need one. Our room was surprisingly comfortable, with nice pillows; the beds were a little thin and firm, though we slept well. The ocean view was great, and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. There wasn’t much counter or shelf space in the shower. This was our first trip to Italy and our first Italian hotel, and we arrived very late after a rough plane ride. Palazzo Belmonte welcomed us warmly and even marked our honeymoon with a bottle of bubbly. Chiara, Claudia, Vincenzo, Andrea, and the rest of the staff were so helpful that we never felt like a burden. The front desk can suggest excursions, book restaurants and other places, and call a transfer car. There are lots of hotel options in the area, but we’d highly recommend this one.

The views over Capri and Amalfi are stunning, and feel special to this part of the Cilento Coast. We’ve stayed at Palazzo Belmonte twice, and I’ve found something new to explore around the grounds each time, from the gardens to the beach and sea views. The whole experience feels impeccable, from waking up to their delicious breakfast through the afternoon. I also loved being able to bike to nearby historic sites, including Paestrum, which was enchanting. I’d highly recommend Palazzo Belmonte to anyone looking for a luxurious Italian vacation.

The Castle is right on the beach, which is amazing. It’s a beautiful resort, everyone has been very friendly, and the food has been delicious. Beyond wonderful.

We spent 9 days at the Palazzo and had a lovely stay. The property is beautiful, the staff were helpful, and the town of SMC was welcoming. It has that quiet, old-world Italian luxury feel. I’m still thinking about the fresh-baked berry cornetto I had every morning, and can’t wait to return.

There are so many beautiful spots for photos here, from the courtyard and terrace to the beach and the town. We took lots of pictures in those places, and the walk into town to sign the papers was especially pleasant. The staff were polite and attentive and made sure the wedding day went smoothly.
