The B&B is out on the edge of Rome, but the metro station is only five minutes away, so getting around was easy. My room, which hadn't been renovated yet, still had all the amenities, and the owner was very kind. They were doing renovations while I was there, and sharing the stay with construction workers wasn't ideal. The bathroom was the one downside because it was too small, though, as mentioned, they were renovating it. I had a great time regardless. Recommended.

The room itself wasn't bad, but the host was rude and disrespectful, peppering us with questions and trying to sell us car rentals, dinners at places of his choosing, and all sorts of other things. On arrival, a man named Pietro called to say we should bring cash because the POS wasn't working. On the phone, he was already acting clever with my wife. At the hotel he asked endless questions, including personal ones, with what I thought was a depraved grin, then tried to come across as nice and good-natured without restraint. He had us write our names on a torn scrap of paper and kept it, saying he'd record everything later, which he never did. He also demanded Rome capital taxes, though I felt he had no right to ask for them since he took the money under the table. He wanted an extra €10 left on the bedside table with the room keys if we left our bags in the room after 10:30 in the morning. The cleaning staff didn't come once in four days, the towels weren't changed, and there was no toilet paper, so we bought our own. It was disgusting. I reported the incident to some finance colleagues, and I hope they'll carry out the necessary checks soon. I don't recommend staying here.

This place isn't a hotel at all. It's rooms rented out in a residential building, with some numbers identifying them on the entrance panel. I regret booking what was advertised as a hotel back in February, and I think I will for years. I emailed them to say when we'd arrive in Rome, but the time was set by the airline. We landed at 9 pm on a cold, rainy night, and nobody from the accommodation came to meet us. I thought a "hotel" would at least have a reception desk open around the clock. We rang the bell again and again, but got no response. We were left outside in the rain with our bags, in a country where we didn't speak the language. After half an hour of failed attempts, we went out looking for somewhere to spend the night. Thankfully, some people do help and respect tourists. We found a room at Hotel Porta Machiore, a real hotel, even though they had to move other guests around to make it possible. I also met two tourists there who'd been through the same situation. To this day, the accommodation hasn't even asked where we stayed that night or how we managed during the days we'd booked with them. Who's going to reimburse us for this disaster? I had to accept the new hotel's price without time to look around or prepare financially. BE CAREFUL ABOUT FALSE ADVERTISING AND REVIEWS.

There was no proper breakfast. He said he'd buy the food the following day, but we left at 10:30 and he never showed up. When we got back that evening, three packs of pastries had been left on the table. Nespresso capsules were only provided on two days, and on our last day we had nothing to eat. The service was awful, and we only saw the guy on the first day. He never told us where to leave the keys, so we had to leave them somewhere. A scam. I don't recommend it.

I asked several times by email for an invoice and never received one. The owner was nowhere to be found, even when I tried to reach him. There was no cleaning and the linens weren't changed. A terrible stay. I'd rather sleep on the street.
