The price was extremely low for a hotel in central Rome, and the location was amazing. But the place itself didn’t leave a good impression. The bed sheets were stained, the hallway smelled bad, and there was mould on the bathroom walls. Breakfast is just one croissant and one coffee if you add it to your booking, so I don’t think it’s worth it. I’d get breakfast somewhere else for the same price.

We were within walking distance of Colosseum, and breakfast was a typical Italian croissant and cappuccino at a cosy bar on the corner. That was the good part. They first put us in a room with a horrible smell. I politely asked to move, and they did it right away. But when I flushed the toilet in the new room, it flooded. They called a plumber and said it was fixed. We still spent the night with a horrible smell and water pressure so low we couldn’t shower. The landlord shouted at me on the phone, saying I was rude and should be grateful because they had paid 300 € to the plumber. I don’t see how that’s my concern. They rent rooms with bathroom problems that should be repaired before guests arrive. The other landlord called to apologize for his son’s behaviour, but it was almost 9 pm by then. I was in my ninth month of pregnancy, and my 8-year-old daughter was exhausted after a full day of sightseeing, so I had no choice but to stay. At check-in they charged us for the night straight away and warned us not to put anything in the toilet. We hadn’t, and it broke anyway. They went over several rules for the keys because the locks don’t work well, instead of telling us when breakfast was served. Luckily, we were only there for one night.

The rooms are roomy enough and have everything you might need, and the location is fantastic. Ricardo and his father, Gian Franco, really look after guests. From the very first moment, it felt like home. Our flight arrived very late at night, but they waited for us and showed us to our room with great care. One of the best hotels in Rome, and the people running it raise the level of Roman hospitality. David & Raquel

The room was clean and breakfast was okay. It was so convenient having the metro, tram, and bus station close by. The woman running everything was very nice and helpful with all our questions. We’d definitely come back. The view outside the room was the one downside, though we didn’t mind it.
