We loved the breakfast, so don't skip it! Giustina and Cristina were kind and full of helpful suggestions for things to see and do. Ape Rossa is a beautifully restored 1920s farmhouse, with modern comforts and a huge garden where the gazebos make a lovely spot for a quiet evening. Our room was very clean and had the basics, plus a shared fridge in the hall. We spent a wonderful week here. There’s plenty to explore in town, and lots of beach options from about 15 minutes away. A lovely base for discovering southern Italy, and I hope to return soon! 😊

We were sorry to miss the caves since we were on foot. The place is outside the historic center, but still close by, and the location worked well for us because we love walking. Breakfast was excellent.

Cristina, thank you so much. I’ll definitely be back. The B&B is tucked into nature, less than a kilometer from the center of Castellana Grotte, and there’s a well-stocked mini market just a few meters away. The Ape Rossa team was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were spotless and smelled fresh. We stayed in the Fire Room, which has a large, easy-to-access bathroom and a big comfortable shower. Breakfast is a sweet and savory buffet on request. I had delicious fresh eggs, definitely from happy hens! 🤩 You can also buy their own products. I recommend the CARAMELIZED ALMONDS and the excellent APULIA EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL.

We were welcomed by attentive, friendly hosts at this lovely property in a peaceful area. Our room for four was cozy, clean, and tidy, with a double bed and sofa bed, and had all the comforts we needed. Breakfast had a good selection and was served courteously. We stopped here while traveling the Route of the Two Seas, and were very happy with the stay. Highly recommended.
