The chalets and the surrounding landscape left us feeling calm and at home. There’s a mix of luxury and the beauty of nature here that we haven’t encountered anywhere else, even after many years of traveling. The views are unreal. Klaus clearly put his heart into building this place. Every little detail feels carefully considered, with tasteful design and a simple connection to the natural surroundings. The photos and website looked great, but the real thing is even better. Klaus was attentive and ready to help with anything, and above all, he made us feel at home. He’s that kind of man.

Klaus made us feel welcome from the start, sharing useful local tips and making sure everything went smoothly. His down-to-earth manner felt like home. The chalet was spotless and well equipped, with comfortable bedrooms and a kitchen that had everything we needed to cook. After skiing or hiking, we liked unwinding in the cozy living room under the sky windows. The tasteful design pairs rustic charm with modern comforts, and the mountain views from every window are mesmerizing. Aura Chalet is a peaceful retreat in the Dolomites, and we can’t wait to return.

After looking through the many places to stay, we chose Aura Chalet because we wanted somewhere quiet and peaceful that still felt accessible and private. We stayed five nights and were delighted by how comfortable, clean and spacious it was. There are four chalets in a row, with Klaus and his family living in a house behind them. But the clever design and private garden made it feel like we were on our own. The only neighbors we noticed were the cute sheep in the pasture below. The views are unobstructed, and watching sunset from the standalone tub was lovely. We slept so well in the comfortable bed. The location is great, just a quick drive from three or four supermarkets in Castelrotto and the friendly pizza place Sporthutte. Klaus was warm, responsive and helpful. If we return to the Dolomites, we’ll definitely stay at Aura again.

After a day of hiking, this is an ideal place to come back to. The apartments have everything you need, with modern interiors that retain the character of the altotesino style. They sit above a valley with a beautiful view, just a few minutes from Castelrotto. Klaus and his family are lovely and quick to respond to requests. We had a great experience.

Klaus was a lifesaver when my car got stuck during a snowstorm. The chalet is private, beautiful and centrally located, with thoughtful hosts, flawless design and a superb location. It’s a must visit if you’re skiing, and I can’t wait to come back in summer. Highly recommended. 1/10!
