Fabio made us feel at home from the start. He’s friendly and professional, and can make communication work in a mix of Italian, English and French, whatever language you speak. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knows more. Iris, their border collie, is a lovely part of the welcome too. She’s sweet and well behaved, and if you’re not a dog person she’ll give you space. We came for four nights at the end of October, hoping for mountain quiet, and found just that. The rooms are basic rather than luxurious, but clean and comfortable, with a good bed and shower. If you know that’s what to expect, you’ll be fine.

Fabio even agreed to serve breakfast at 7:30, half an hour early, when I mentioned my early flight. The hotel is lovely, set in a picturesque spot, and the rooms are comfortable with an exceptionally clean bathroom. There’s a small garden where they grow vegetables for the kitchen, too. I’d happily choose this hotel again and recommend it.

The setting is peaceful and green, with lots of berries, vegetables and lovely routes to Lake Como. We stayed in the Nocciolo room, which was small but cozy and beautiful. Fabio and Milena are great hosts, the service was excellent, breakfast was generous and dinner was good.

Fabio and Milena are such welcoming hosts, always friendly and happy to chat. Our comfortable, very clean room had everything we needed, and the place is dog-friendly. We had half board and really enjoyed the outstanding authentic Italian food made with local ingredients. It’s also well placed for Lake Como and mountain hikes.
