Morami Wine Agriturismo

After time in Venice and Florence, my family and I found this a peaceful, relaxing place to stay. It’s well situated for getting around much of Tuscany and Umbria, and the staff’s restaurant suggestions were all great. Breakfast was a nice surprise. We didn’t have time to do a wine tasting, but would love to come back for one.

We came just for a wine tasting, and the lady leading it was great. There were five wines, and it cost €30 per person. We only heard the price halfway through, and for us that felt expensive, especially since some of the wines weren’t to our taste. Buying five bottles would have worked out much cheaper. A lower price or a discount might have made it worthwhile and perhaps led us to buy some wine, but as it was, it felt like an OK, pricey experience in a nice setting, especially with so many good wines in the area. No doubt, it’s a great place.

Our accommodation was in the second building, where the surrounding area was poorly maintained and the view was more than mediocre. The estate itself is beautiful, and the accommodation was spacious and clean. For anyone who is electro-sensitive, high voltage runs through the property.

Cristiana guided our tasting and made it feel personal and special. She knew so much about the wines and how they’re made, and was warm, engaging, and passionate. We tried 10 different wines, each with a story and its own character; every glass was a treat, and her explanations helped us appreciate them more. You can tell a lot of love and care goes into what they do at Morami. The vineyards and countryside make a stunning backdrop for an afternoon tasting. We had an amazing time at Morami on our recent trip to Italy, and I’d highly recommend it to visitors, whether they know wine well or are just curious. You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for Italian wine and a few new favorites.
