Antichi profumi

We had booked two nights, then found out late check-in wasn't available and asked to cancel or move the booking to another day. Nobody responded. When we arrived, we couldn't find the place, and they wouldn't answer their own intercom. We got no money back, not even for the second night. The service was awful. Don't book here.

We were there for one night and never got a receipt for the payment. Breakfast meant a coffee and croissant at a bar two corners away, a place that was untidy, dirty and full of dirty people. The bar underneath had unruly customers, which made the evening feel scary. Inside, the entrance was untidy, the kitchenette had only one or two pieces of cutlery and chipped plates, and the shower was unclean, with glass stained with soap from previous guests. The owner was arrogant and rude. Checkout was by ten in the morning. I won't go back.

Parking nearby costs €12 for 24 hours. We couldn't unload bags near the main entrance because the B&B sits in Catania's market area, which is active all week. We only found that out when we arrived, though the owner should have told us so we could plan ahead. The central location is otherwise excellent, close to everything. I stayed in August. The rooms are clean and modern, with WiFi and an elevator. Breakfast is at a nearby café, just a pastry and coffee or cappuccino. Fruit juice costs extra, so I wasn't satisfied with it.

The price feels too high for what you get. The room looks nice, but the shutters don't shut properly, the bathroom bulbs are different colors, and maintenance seems optional. Breakfast is at a bar, with a maximum allowance of €2.50, and the quality leaves a lot to be desired. It's in the city market area, so parking is at a multistory garage not far away. The B&B has no partnership with it.
