The room was spacious, modern, and practical, with outlets in useful spots, even in the bathroom for an electric toothbrush. The owners were helpful and stayed in touch about the city and anything we needed in the room. We asked for an iron and got one. Even the small things were covered, like having enough toilet paper without asking for more. One thing to know: Dimora is in a historic building that it doesn’t occupy entirely. It has proper security, but there are neighbors in the same building, and another building shares the inner courtyard. One of them had a pretty noisy dog. Maybe we were unlucky and that isn’t usually a problem. There are also extra stairs to climb with luggage, though it didn’t bother us. Travelers should expect that in an old, historic city.

We spent four days in beautiful Catania in comfortable accommodation with a great, central location. The owner was extremely kind and helpful, always giving us lots of tips. We hope to return to Catania soon, and definitely to Dimora del Mercante.

Angelo was the standout for me. From check-in onward, he was kind, responsive, and full of suggestions for places to see and eat. Anything I needed was only a message away. The room itself was simple but had the comforts we wanted, including AC and a spacious shower and bathroom. We also appreciated the shared kitchenette, especially the separate fridge for each room to keep our water cold. I’d definitely recommend staying here in Catania.
