King House B&B Catania

It's a simple B&B, and sorry, I can't recommend it. The online ad says there's no balcony, and that's technically true: there's just a small ledge off the inner hallway, separated by something like a bamboo mat. It has a little table and two chairs. There isn't a table or chair in the room. The kitchen area is fairly modern, and the bathroom and WiFi were good. But there were no drinking glasses, just one spoon, and very little other kitchen equipment. I wouldn't book this B&B again.

The rooms were quiet and very clean, just like the pictures, and the service was really good. The location made it easy to get to Catania's main sights. The owner was quick to help and point us in the right direction, and very kind. Thanks, we'll definitely come back.

The bathroom smelled very bad when we arrived, and the owner seemed odd from the start. At checkout, we were only five minutes late when he opened the door without knocking while my girlfriend was changing. We felt completely disrespected and uncomfortable. He said we'd dirtied the sheets and raised his voice while asking for a 20€ cleaning charge. I pointed out the fee was listed as 10€, and he eventually agreed, but the whole exchange felt aggressive and unprofessional. Then, when I paid by card, he entered 50€ instead of 10€. After we left, he tried to charge 50€ again through booking.com, but it was declined. The screenshots show the card payment first, then his later requests for another 50€. It was a stressful, hostile stay. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone hoping for a respectful or relaxing place.

The owner refused to let me stay and was very rude, so I can't comment on the rooms. He also turned down my request for a refund. I'd suggest finding somewhere that deals with guests honestly. If the owner reads this and decides it makes sense to reimburse me, I'll of course remove my comments. Otherwise, be aware and look elsewhere.
