La Suite del Tenore by Wonderful Italy

The location was fantastic, with a lovely view of Piazza Vincenzo Bellini and cafes and restaurants right outside. The good windows kept most of the square’s noise out. The layout over several floors was pleasant and gave you somewhere to retreat. The photos looked convincing, and the apartment initially seemed promising. I came with my 12-year-old daughter, and being able to cook for ourselves mattered a lot. Early check-in was a plus, and the handover was easy. Cleanliness was only surface-level. The sofa blankets and pillows badly needed washing. The air conditioning worked, but it was noisy, slow to cool the place, and only ran with a key. There was no air conditioning in the other rooms. The fan beside the bed was useful but far too loud at night. The internet was okay, though the TV was sluggish. The problems with the apartment were a real letdown. The wood laminate bathroom floor was impractical, warped, and absorbed moisture. We also encountered silverfish and cockroaches several times. The shower head was broken, and, worst of all, the refrigerator, which we relied on, didn’t work. Customer service responded promptly, but it stayed broken for all 9 days of our stay. That made cooking for ourselves impossible, and we still haven’t received a solution or compensation. Catania was beautiful, which makes it a shame the accommodation disappointed. It was adequate for sleeping, but little more.
