The standout dishes were the fried second courses of presce, which pleasantly impressed me, and the pork cutlet, which was good. The vegetables were served nicely, and the pizza was a calzone that was smaller than what I’ve seen elsewhere, but the preparation, dough, and cooking were TOP! The sweets looked good, though I didn’t try them. The staff were polite and quick, but less knowledgeable about the dishes, perhaps because they’re often hired by the hour and may lack specific qualifications. The restaurant itself is well kept. We had a good time, and what mattered was the care and love the cook and pizza maker put into preparing the food. The setting feels “medieval” outside, but inside the room felt impersonal, with one big space, the kitchen on one side and a bar on the other. Maybe that layout suits its hotel nature better. Getting into the internal parking past the beautiful exterior walls is tricky, and best avoided if you don’t like risky maneuvers. It’s small, with room for up to 6 cars, so finding a space outside is preferable. The place isn’t elegant or romantic, but works for a friendly dinner. Prices are average. The six of us paid around € 160, without ordering first courses. The restaurant is in Certosa di Pavia, at the crossroads of the S. dei Giovi road and the road leading to the Certosa, about 4km from Pavia in the hospital area, 7km from Binasco, and 30 km from Milan. You can reach it via the SS dei Giovi.

The price was very reasonable, even cheap for the quality of the rooms. It’s a beautiful hotel with very nice rooms inside. I wasn’t there as a tourist, but Pavia is only a few minutes’ drive away and I think it would be an interesting place to visit. I’ll come back whenever I travel in this area again.

The toilet was still dirty when we arrived in the room, hairy and wet, and the floor throughout the room was dusty too. When we asked to change rooms, the staff offered no options. We couldn’t move to another room, had a really hard time getting our money back, and they didn’t help us arrange another hotel at 20.00h. I’ll never go back and wouldn’t recommend it.

The receptionists were really kind and nice, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. It’s a really great hotel, close to the amazing Certosa di Pavia. Grazie mille Marco!!!
