Hotel Due Torri

Beautiful setting, and a nice hotel.

We had a great time at the diving center in town, which the kind and welcoming owners recommended. The hotel also has parking at the back if you're driving, and its Wi-Fi worked better than the cellular network. For about the same price as other hotels, we got a renovated, roomy two-room apartment on the top floor. It had four beds, a two-burner electric kitchenette, sink, dishes, fridge and dining table. There's also air conditioning, though it blows toward the bed. We left it off and used the shuttered windows for airflow, which kept things cool at night. The small balcony had a chair and drying rack, with a lovely view over the hills and rooftops. The bathroom is on the small side, and the door opens right up against the sink, but it was fine, with a bidet and a comfortable enclosed shower. I wouldn't choose the traditional rooms, which are smaller and only a little cheaper.

The staff's kindness is what really sets the place apart. Breakfast was excellent, with homemade cakes and plenty of sweet and savory choices. The location in Porto Azzurro is great, and reserved parking is especially handy since parking gets scarce beyond the town's restricted traffic zone.

The location is excellent, and the owners and staff were kind and helpful throughout my two-night stay at the end of August. My room was simple but had everything I needed. Breakfast was generous and varied, and I was completely satisfied. I'd recommend it.
