Casa Cloe

We spent a lovely week here, and the price was great for what we got. The apartment felt welcoming and had all the basics, including sheets, towels, and dishes, plus a little balcony where we could catch a distant sea view in the evenings. It’s tucked among greenery, away from the bustle, but the supermarket is about 10 minutes away and the highway about 15. Parking under the apartment made it easy to come and go. The owner was warm and helpful, and we got to chat a few times. We’d happily come back.

The countryside setting is very quiet, so you’ll need a car. There’s reserved parking in the garden, and the shower is roomy and comfortable. The house is simply furnished but has what you need for a weekend, and the price is good. The stairs up to the entrance are awkward with luggage, though. Also, the bedroom’s small window lets in quite a bit of morning light and can’t be darkened.

I knew before booking that there were no sheets or towels, Wi-Fi, or TV, and chose to stay anyway. Still, carrying all the linen with me was a real nuisance. In the end I paid 40 euros, when for 10 euros more I’ve had more services elsewhere. This place could do better. Check-in was by phone, and the keys had been left under some stones among a bunch of other stones. -.-

The bathroom is long and narrow, with a spacious shower, and the apartment was very clean. There’s private parking, a sink, oven and stovetop in the kitchen, plus sugar, plastic plates and cutlery, and dish soap, though I’m not sure those are always supplied. The owner was really friendly and the price was good. On the downside, there’s no TV, breakfast, towels, or sheets, except sometimes by request. The bathroom heater is large but slow to warm up. I’d definitely stay again, though sadly they no longer rent by the night. I’m giving it 3 stars because of those drawbacks.
