Lovely.

They even served us dinner though it was already 9 pm, after we’d had to escape from another hotel. The owners and staff were so kind and welcoming. The food was excellent, everything was clean, and the hospitality was fantastic. This three-star place deserves a much higher rating. Everything was perfect, and we’ll definitely come back.

The pool was the only thing I liked, though the unpleasant atmosphere and staff made it hard to enjoy. The buffet was embarrassing, and the food was poor quality, nothing like the Romagna-style cuisine advertised. Grated cheese in sachets sat in the waiters’ pockets, and they sometimes offered it with the first course. Dining room staff were unpleasant and didn’t even speak Italian. I also saw waiters stopping to get drinks from the guest dispenser. With a kitchen staff that was entirely foreign, it didn’t feel Romagna-style at all. We booked for a week but went home after two days because of a family issue. We would have left early regardless. The hotel didn’t match its website description. Our triple room was small, and its card-operated air conditioning couldn’t cool it. Coming back from the beach was miserable, and opening the window meant the air conditioning stopped working. Reception was almost always unattended. For San Lorenzo, only two or three tables, including ours, were left inside the dining room while the others were outside. The owners had a table outdoors too, and in my opinion, guests should have come first. Instead of installing electronic room key cards, I’d suggest investing in the cuisine and staff, which are a strength of Romagna. I’d like to hear the owners respond.

We came for four days for the 2025 Veterans Tennis Championships. The welcome seemed a little cool at first, but I soon realized I’d misjudged it. The service, food, cleanliness, rooms, and bathroom were all excellent. Highly recommended, and we’ll return. Since the hotel stays open all year, we might come for two or three days at Christmas.
