Hotel B&B Montecarlo

The ocean view from our top-floor room was fantastic, and the beach was only seconds away on foot. We stayed four nights in early September, and found the hotel spotless and the staff genuinely friendly. The building and rooms aren't modern, but everything works well, and even the inexpensive beds were comfortable. The lobby has a bit more style than the rooms, and breakfast was high quality with a good range, including vegetarian choices. There are little restaurants and shops within a ten-minute walk, and larger cities are about a 25-minute drive. For a place that costs roughly a quarter of nearby hotels, it was a good way to keep money for all the activities around there while still getting a filling breakfast and functional rooms.

The location is good, and the cleaners and kitchen staff were very kind. That's about where the positives end for me. The room cleaning was unreliable, and the hotel was very noisy. We weren't told that air conditioning cost extra or that the remote was kept in the office, so we spent three nights unable to sleep in the heat. The drinks prices weren't posted either, and we were charged 13 euro for a coke and a beer. I'm celiac, but there was almost nothing for me beyond eggs, sausage, and tomatoes, and today even the tomatoes were missing. We booked three rooms, and when I asked to keep ours a little longer on departure day for a 10 a.m. Zoom appointment with my doctor, they said no, even though there was one cleaner per floor and the other rooms could have been done first. Not very helpful. Cheap place, cheap service.

The people were nice, and the view was lovely. Rooms are small.

There wasn't enough room for our family of three. The room was too small.
