The beach was a decent part of the stay, with bathrooms, showers and a storage room for beach gear, though it isn’t very large. The hostel itself was a letdown. We had thefts from our rooms while we were staying there. The garden is huge but seems underused, and the outdoor pool was unsatisfactory, with an old ladder. Our room had an en-suite bathroom, as do the rooms ranging from 2 to 10 beds, but it was a bit dirty when we arrived. There was dust everywhere and hair in the shower. Food was another problem: portions were meager, seconds often weren’t available, and there was only one choice. The menu posted in the dining room wasn’t always what they served. We also found hair in the food several times, and there was always mold in the grated Parmesan. Staff weren’t qualified for the job, and often struggled to communicate because their Italian was limited. As a result, they didn’t always meet our requests.
