In just 10 days, my mother was unrecognizable. I had to pay the full monthly rent, and when I took her home, her belongings were missing, including the necklace and the perfume with the beauty case I’d prepared for her. It felt like they took advantage of everything. I curse the moment I decided to leave her there. And you have to give at least one star, since there’s no option to give less.

My mother died there on April 7, 2025. Her non-cohabiting daughter had placed her there three months earlier in what was a coercive move. During her stay, she gradually became like a zombie and was almost always kept in a wheelchair. Just four months before, in December 2024, she was happy at home, going to the gym, laughing, and joking.

My experience at the Villa Nacalua nursing home in Città Sant'Angelo was extremely disappointing. The place seemed dirty and neglected, with appalling hygiene. The elderly residents appeared to be left without the care they needed, and I saw no attention or respect for their needs. The standard of care was unacceptable. I believe ASL inspectors should carry out a thorough inspection urgently. Living conditions for the residents need to improve, and if serious steps aren’t taken, the facility should be closed. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I had to hire a lawyer and file a police report to get my deposit back. It took five months to recover it. The hygiene and service were scandalous too. I don’t recommend it.
