Camping Residence Green Village

The view from our pitch was lovely, about 8 metres from the shore, and the train station was only around a five-minute walk away. Given the limited choice on Lake Como, the location was about as good as it gets. I also want to be clear that the woman at reception was lovely and very helpful. The showers were reasonable, but cost extra on top of the pitch, as did washing dishes. The toilets and showers are starting to look tired. The electricity was only about 3 amps and kept tripping, and the Wi-Fi was poor, with repeated logins needed. Online, it looked like there were lots of pitches, but only about five were available for non-fixed stays. We booked four days and left one day early because these issues were becoming a pain. I try to give honest reviews because they matter to other people.

We enjoyed camping here, and both the price and location were good. A couple of small things kept it from being a five-star stay: the shower building has open frames, so it could feel cold in spring or autumn, and there’s no kitchen for cooking. Also, there’s a great, super friendly cat living there.

The staff were super helpful, and it’s close to the train station for easy trips to Varenna and Bellano. There are quite a few long-term pitches, which seemed to help keep the campsite quiet and well maintained. It also has lovely private access to the lake and amazing views. Highly recommended.

We parked our camper right by the water, on the first line. The beach and the surrounding area are lovely, and the toilets and showers were very clean, though the hot water wasn’t very hot. It’s a great campsite on Lake Como. We’ll probably come back.
