Hotel Zum Mohren

The food was a big part of what made this vacation so special. Breakfast had plenty of buffet options, and they were happy to make eggs to order. We could choose dinner from the menu each morning. Every night brought a four-course meal with two or three choices per course, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. My mom has a gluten intolerance, and they made her delicious gluten-free menus every night, with pasta, bread, and several choices for each course. She hadn’t had ravioli in years, so they made gluten-free ravioli just for her. They also surprised her with a lovely gluten-free birthday cake and a decorated table. That meant so much to all of us. We were there with both sets of parents and our two dogs, and everyone felt comfortable and cared for. The staff are warm, attentive, and clearly take pride in this family-run place. When we arrived at 11 PM on the first night, they had stayed up to check us in and prepared cold food so we’d have something to eat. The rooms are brand new, modern, spotless, and very soundproof. We slept peacefully every night. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the rooms were cleaned daily. We had a balcony, as did my parents, and my in-laws’ room even had a sauna. The spa was peaceful and immaculate, with saunas, steam rooms, and relaxation areas, and a great way to unwind after skiing. We also had massages. The location worked really well for the mountains, just a short shuttle ride or quick drive away. I’d seen comments about limited parking because the hotel is on the main street, but that wasn’t our experience. There’s a covered lot above the hotel. Just ask and they’ll show you where it is. It was especially useful during the snowstorm, and parking was never a problem for us. This was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. We left relaxed and feeling valued. My parents flew in from Canada, and they agreed it was one of the most amazing hotels they’d ever stayed at. We’re already looking forward to coming back and can’t recommend it highly enough.
