The location was the only good thing. The pictures don’t accurately show the room: in reality, it was dirty, including the shower and walls, and the towels smelled very bad. There were safety issues too, with electric wires outside the walls and a broken, open light switch. I cancelled my stay after two nights and moved elsewhere. In the charming park in front of the apartment, two small gangs, eight men in total, were fighting, and the police came over.

Our trip was thrown into chaos just two days before we were due to leave. The owner said our studio had gone to other guests because our booking supposedly wasn’t saved in his system, even though he’d confirmed everything when we reserved it two months earlier. I don’t believe it simply failed to save; it seemed the other guests paid him more than the price he’d agreed with us. He was rude and made no effort to find a solution. He ruined our vacation.

Right in the heart of Ventimiglia, this is a lovely little B&B. The hosts made us feel very welcome, and breakfast on the rooftop terrace was homemade and delicious.

The room needs some work: the lighting is much too dim, the wiring runs awkwardly across several power strips, the shower head holder is broken, and there was only half a roll of toilet paper. A little effort could make it better, but in its current state I wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms were spotless, and the guesthouse is just a few steps from the lake in a very central spot. Lorenzo, the owner, was exceptionally kind and helpful during our three-night stay in room 2. Great value for the money. We’ll come back!
