Hotel Metropol

We stayed for a long weekend and would go back in a heartbeat. The location up the hill gives you beautiful bay views, though it's only a three-minute walk to the beach and its bars and restaurants, then maybe another five minutes to the town centre. You can drive into town too. Our double room was spacious and clean. I especially liked the private balcony and its amazing sea view. As someone who lives in the city, waking up to the sun and sea each morning was lovely. There's also a large swimming pool tucked away for a quiet swim or some sunbathing. The warm, welcoming atmosphere stood out just as much as the views. The staff were very friendly, and my partner said they make you feel at home with a smile. I found it very easy to unwind and enjoy my time off here. A really good find for a getaway, and I'd highly recommend it.

We had a sea view room booked, but from the balcony there was no view of the sea unless you leaned over the railing. When we raised this, nobody offered a solution. The rooms were clean and nice, though, and the hotel's location was beautiful and central. The pool was pleasantly quiet, and the lifeguard was a nice guy. Breakfast was good, with nothing to complain about. Dinner was a disaster. The food was overcooked, and when we tried to send it back, they couldn't offer us a better menu. We gave the kitchen a second chance and were disappointed again, even though our expectations were already low. Italian cuisine can make simple dishes delicious, but that didn't happen here. It's a shame for a restaurant serving Italian food. At least the bar drinks were good enough to help us recover the evening. The shuttle driver was super nice and drove decently.

We just finished an eight-day holiday at Hotel Metropol and really enjoyed our stay. We don't usually have dinner in the hotel dining room, but both breakfast and dinner here were wonderful. Every member of staff was kind and friendly. We'll definitely be back next September.

Everything was clean, including the shared areas, and the hotel is so close to the beach you can see it. But this should not be advertised as having a pool. It's only a paddling pool and doesn't even come above the knee. There are 12 sunbeds, and larger families reserve them, so you can forget about getting one. If I'd known there wasn't really a swimming pool, I wouldn't have booked.
