Hotel Le Palme Lago Maggiore Bike Friendly

A good enough hotel for an overnight stop, about a 30-minute drive from Milan Malpensa. The room was clean and well equipped. The building feels a bit dated, but that didn’t really matter for a short stay. Staff were extremely polite and helpful, which made the experience better. There’s a spa, but we didn’t have time to visit.

I’d highly recommend Le Palme Hotel in Dormelletto, Italy. After an overnight flight, we arrived tired and exhausted, and Francesca greeted us with a lovely smile. She went out of her way to give us lots of interesting information about the city, including ideas for entertainment and places to visit. She also helped with every question or request, including essential administrative assistance. The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, with ample parking. Our rooms were clean, spacious and tidy, and the whole place has tasteful design. We especially enjoyed a relaxing evening on the fantastic rooftop. The gym and spa facilities were great, and breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Francesca deserves a special thank you for her exceptional service. This was the perfect welcome to Italy, and when we return, we’re sure we’ll stay here again.

I’ve stayed at this hotel often and find it a very nice, convenient place. The people who work there are kind, and the rooms are nice too. I really appreciate the wellness facilities, even though I don’t often get the chance to use them. Since I often arrive late at night, the night receptionist is especially helpful and means I don’t have to worry. There’s always free parking, and two restaurants are very close. Breakfast is okay, though I’d like scrambled eggs as an option in future. Great place, keep up the good work, everyone.

The room had everything I needed, including complimentary toothbrushes and shaving kits, and the air conditioning worked excellently. Even the tiny shower had strong water pressure. Breakfast was lovely, with lots of choices, and everything tasted delicious. The room faced the street but was surprisingly quiet at night, even on the first floor above the restaurant. All the hotel staff were extremely friendly, and the rooftop tranquility area was absolutely perfect. There were tiny ants throughout the room. The hallways and stairwells get VERY dark at night to save electricity, and the light switch runs on a short timer. The cleaning staff also automatically close the metal blinds to keep rooms cool on hot summer days, so the room was pitch black when I came back. The sign says the gym is open from 7 until 9, but one of its doors was locked every time I tried it. The spa was never open for me either. I tried at 7pm one day and found the door locked; another time at midday, the room was empty and nothing was working. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the train station, though some stretches have no sidewalk. The far platform has only stairs, with no elevator or ramp. The trains passing the hotel are quiet compared with freight trains in the U.S., with no whistle and little noise as they zip by. Across the street, the sidewalk leads easily to a grocery store, pharmacies and discounted home goods stores.
