I Massini - Apartment

The wedding was a terrible experience for us, coming all the way from China for my cousin's celebration. It was around 40 degrees inside, yet only two air conditioners were running in the whole villa. Basically, there was no cooling at all. I don't know how Google rates this as a 2 star hotel, it was even worse. The manager said the other AC units were broken, but nobody told us before the wedding day. He ran off instead of taking responsibility. He also blamed us because some guests went outside to smoke, even though the whole garden was meant to be used for the wedding. So bad.

The pool is spacious and nice, though it can get packed with kids screaming all day. I have a child too, but sometimes it's good to have a break from constant shouting. Our five-night stay also included a wedding on the first night, with loud music going past 2 a.m. On other evenings, events at nearby venues were audible too, which wasn't ideal with a light-sleeping infant. There are lovely, well-kept grounds with a pond, event area, tennis court and park-like green spaces. The staff and owner were friendly and helpful, and when we had an AC problem they sorted it quickly. I'd definitely recommend the place for a wedding. The kitchen had pans, a Nespresso machine and a dishwasher, but there were no coffee capsules on the first day. Basic things like kitchen towels, a toaster and kettle were missing. We got towels after asking, and with a young baby the other items would've been useful. The dishwasher was very rusty inside and didn't clean well. Our first-floor apartment had a balcony, but the only way out was through the bedroom where our infant slept, so we couldn't really use it. It was shared openly with the other two apartments and had no privacy. If you're traveling with kids, I think the apartments with garden access are a better fit. WiFi was very poor, and mobile reception was so limited there weren't really any internet alternatives.

The place is way too expensive, old, and extremely dirty. I'd never come back. There's a wedding every day, so you can't sleep, and the pool is in bad shape and dangerous. The dog took my shoes and wrecked them, and the owner didn't even apologize. And I'll say it in Italian too: don't come here, the rooms don't even have shutters!

I went to my friend's wedding here and it was a horrible experience. It was 40 degrees outside, none of the AC was working, and the cake was melting. There were only two bathrooms for over 150 guests, and the owner didn't care about us. I wouldn't come back even if it were free.
