The owner was kind and very helpful, and the apartment had large rooms and private parking underneath. But there were some surprises. I had selected “air conditioning” in the filters, yet there wasn’t any, just a fan. That was a problem for my father, who suffers in the heat; otherwise I wouldn’t have chosen the property. The TV was there, but had only a few channels, barely more than RAI. There is a bathroom, though it’s small, has no bidet, and you reach it through a hallway in the main building, which is accessible to disabled guests. Fine for a couple of nights at most if you don’t expect much.

Our stay was short but really pleasant, thanks to Roberto’s warm welcome, the clean and comfortable apartment, and the Dogliani dessert they make.

The view is fantastic, and you’re right among the vines. The facilities are limited to electricity, water and cassette emptying, with no toilets. The access road is narrow, especially through the stretch between the houses.

It’s a rustic place that feels like home, set in a stunning spot among the Langhe hills. The food is excellent and so generous that we couldn’t finish it. We’ll definitely come back.
