Residence Criró

The pizzas were nicely topped and tasted as good as they looked. The waiters were very professional, and I’d happily come back. We were eight people on a Friday after 9:30, so the pizzas took a little while. The tables are spaced well apart in a large, nicely furnished garden. One thing that could be improved is adding verandas or gazebos for outdoor dining after summer, for people who don’t like eating indoors.

We stopped at the Crirò residence for one night to split up our drive to Salento, and the owner welcomed us like old friends. Our apartment was lovely, clean and very practical. We also ate at the residence restaurant, where the seafood was delicious and beautifully presented. The swordfish carbonara was excellent and well worth trying. Friendly, helpful people and great food all in one place.

The restaurant has a great fresh fish menu, with well-made dishes from starters through to desserts prepared by Roberta. The quality for the price is truly exceptional. Mr. Gianni and his daughters Roberta and Cristina were exceptionally welcoming, and Salvatore, the young waiter, was professional and friendly. The residence has lovely mini apartments surrounded by well-kept greenery. Compliments to all!

The food is excellent and mostly homemade at this welcoming residence and restaurant. The main dining room is underground and has no windows, which is the only drawback.
