Belvilla by OYO Zafferano

The hosts gave us thoughtful suggestions for places to eat and things to see, and it was clear their hospitality came from genuine care. We felt welcomed like family at this beautiful agriturismo in the Umbrian hills. The rooms are spacious and have what you need, while the rooms, kitchen, bathrooms and pool were all clean and in excellent shape. It's peaceful and quiet away from the city, with lovely views and fresh air. The access road is rough, but we made it in a small car. We'd happily return and recommend it.

The rough, mostly unpaved drive to the house was the only real drawback for us. It takes around ten rather demanding minutes of ups and downs after leaving the paved road, and the nearest large supermarket, Eurospin, is about a 15-20 minute drive away. We had a relaxing family holiday in apartment Zafferano, with a beautiful view and a generous pool shared by guests from just two apartments. There are two roomy bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, large fridge and freezer. Linens and towels were supplied. Our welcoming host, Francesco, shared tasty fruit and vegetables from the organic garden and homemade olive oil, and gave us helpful ideas for outings.

After we got a little lost, Francesco came to pick us up himself and guide us in. We spent a week there in August as a family of four, surrounded by nothing but nature. It was an ideal place to switch off and relax. The apartment was clean and neat, with two bathrooms and towels provided, and a functionally equipped kitchen. Sharing the washing machine worked fine, and detergent was available. They also kindly arranged things when one of our children wanted the sofa instead of sharing a bed with his brother. Francesco welcomed us warmly, checked in more than once to see if we needed anything or were comfortable, and gave us useful excursion tips. He also offered vegetables from his garden and gave us home-grown olive oil and saffron, all incredibly delicious. The pool was cleaned regularly, with plenty of room to keep some distance from other guests and lots of umbrellas. We'd definitely return.

The views are breathtaking, and the setting makes it easy to visit different places. The pool was clean and well looked after. Mosquito nets would be a useful addition. Mr. Francesco and his wife were courteous and helpful.
