Hotel Emmy - five elements

We stayed in the junior suite, a spacious room with a modern and classic mix in the decor. It has the feel of a traditional European room, with useful modern features like motion-sensor lights, automatic temperature control and a walk-in closet. The bathroom has a separate tub and shower, while the toilet is in its own cabin with good ventilation. The indoor pools were great, both the adults’ and children’s pools, and there’s a heated outdoor pool area too. Dinner was excellent and included in our room price. The hotel is well placed for public transport, and there are plenty of ways to keep younger guests busy, including an indoor playroom and outdoor playground. We didn’t try the sauna because we were travelling with an underage child, and we didn’t use the fitness facility either. Highly recommended.

Hotel Emmy was a perfect base for my daughter and me while we were with an active adventure group doing biking, hiking and climbing. The staff were extremely helpful, the location worked well for hiking and wandering around the charming town, and the views were incredible. Our room was gorgeous and comfortable. The kids loved the beautiful pool, and the spotless, state-of-the-art spa and relaxation area was so restful. Breakfast was a full, delicious buffet, and our group had a lovely dinner on the terrace overlooking the village. One evening my daughter was worn out from the day, and the restaurant staff quickly brought a simple, tasty meal to our room. Every part of our stay was flawless. I’d absolutely stay at Hotel Emmy again.

We had some lovely walks straight from the hotel, including one to gorgeous Lago di Fie. For a different view, we took the cable car higher into the mountains from Seis Am Schlern. At dinner, they can serve the children earlier, which meant we could enjoy a romantic evening too. The rooms are spacious, making a stay with small children much easier. We loved everything about this hotel: the food, views, location, staff, rooms and things for children. These were the best holidays we’ve had in years, and we’ll definitely come back.

The staff were warm, smiling and understanding, and reception, restaurant and housekeeping were all very supportive. The hotel is surrounded by lovely nature, with no big hotels nearby, so it doesn’t feel swept up in a huge tourist wave. It’s easy to find; after leaving the highway, a narrow but scenic road leads there. It isn’t right in the town centre, but there’s a free, enclosed garage with enough space. The premises are modern and very well maintained. Our room had a great balcony looking over the town. We didn’t get to try the spa, but the pools were good, especially the children’s pool. With indoor and outdoor playgrounds, pools and nearby hikes that work well with children and suitable strollers, it’s a very family-friendly place. Half board makes sense since there aren’t many options nearby. Dinner was delicious, usually with two choices for each course, like meat or fish and soup or salad. The servings are on the small side, especially if you’ve been biking or hiking all day, but you can always get more from the salad buffet, so it wasn’t a big problem. The wine selection was good, though a little pricey, and the restaurant has a kids’ menu.
