Agriturismo Montereggi

The olive oil was really good and very fairly priced. I recommend it.

We chose Montereggi instead of staying in Florence because finding a good Airbnb there for a decent price was impossible, and it turned out to be our best decision. The place is beautiful and the staff are the best. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel for Florence, and the train stop is a 15-minute walk away. Getting back can be a bit hard if you stay in Florence late, and dinner options nearby are limited since it's a very small town. Still, I think the views and experience make it worthwhile. You really get a feel for Tuscany outside the city. And the restaurant was AMAZING!

I booked an apartment at Agriturismo Montereggi for six weeks in September-October 2024 for work. I can't recommend staying there. The owner "failed" to tell me that the apartment above mine was occupied by neighbours he had been pursuing an eviction order against since November 2023. They were incredibly loud and behaved aggressively, starting at 4 in the morning, so I couldn't sleep and felt threatened. After a week I couldn't bear it anymore and had to leave. Only then did I learn the owner knew about the problem but had rented out my apartment anyway. He offered me another apartment on the property, but I refused because I felt unsafe there and betrayed by him. He wouldn't give me a full refund for the days I didn't stay. He said a partial refund was only possible if I signed an NDA, so I'm now bringing civil and criminal charges against him for fraud. The situation is ongoing.

We visited out of season and met a nice woman who worked there. She showed us around the factory and taught us a lot about olive oil. We bought some of theirs and it tasted delicious.
