Fattoria Poggio Di Fiesole

We came as a family of four in mid-April and were lucky to be the first guests after the renovations. The apartment had loads of room, proper beds, a big equipped kitchen, a separate dining room, 2.5 bathrooms, and cosy heating that helped dry our washing. Having a washing machine was a real treat after weeks on the road. Anna had also left biscuits for the hungry kids, plus farm olive oil to cook with and honey. And those upstairs views! We never got tired of them. Anna handled all our questions before booking and arriving, and she and Pietro were always happy to share travel tips, including where to park in Fiesole to catch the Florence bus. We also appreciated being able to book just 2 nights over Easter when other places wanted 3, or even 7. We only wish we’d stayed longer. Highly recommended, and we’d gladly return. If you’re driving from Florence or the south, going via Fiesole cuts out almost all of the tricky narrow single lane road to the farm.

Pietro knows a great deal about the olive groves and clearly enjoys sharing it with visitors. We had a wonderful visit and tour, with lovely views and plenty of history around us. The olive oil was amazing too, grown, pressed, and bottled right there, a real Tuscan product. I wasn't a guest at the Grove, so I can't comment on that part of the experience.

The apartment was clean, had everything we needed, and worked well for a family. Our hosts were kind and helpful. We had a wonderful stay and only wish we could have stayed longer.

Pietro showed us how olives are grown and harvested, then we got to taste a beautiful oil that was floral and intense, with a little peppery note. The place is a real gem, with a lovely view across the fields and countryside. I didn't stay overnight, so I can't say anything about the rooms. Thank you.
