Agriturismo il Passeggere

The accommodation itself was lovely, which made the rest of our stay all the more disappointing. We stopped here on the way to hike the Path of the Gods, and after a day on the trail we were very hungry, with nowhere else to eat locally. Dinner was supposed to start at 7:30. We arrived around 7:40, found the staff eating, and were told to come back in ten minutes. When we returned closer to 8, one person was smoking outside and didn’t acknowledge us. It went downhill from there. We were a group of eight. Some people were still looking at the menu when staff came to take the order, so we asked them to start at the other end of the table. There may have been a language barrier, but they left and didn’t come back for about twenty minutes. There was a larger table of riders and a few smaller tables too. Even though we arrived second, our group was served last. A table of two had finished starters, mains, and desserts and paid before some of us had even received starters. I had to ask for water and bread. Two of us got our main courses while everyone else was still waiting, and the bread came after those meals. The house red was so acidic I couldn’t drink it. It was awful sitting there eating while the rest of our group waited. The meal was unremarkable for the price. When we paid the next day, the bill included several things we hadn’t ordered. We called and, after some prompting, someone gave us a discount. The morning staff were friendlier and more helpful, but before checkout a staff member barged into our room without knocking and demanded payment. Such a bad experience, especially given the lovely setting and the chance this place has to offer a great stop off the road.

We visited Agriturismo I’ll Passeggere yesterday with 37 Harley-Davidson riders from Kingdom oJordan, and it was a fantastic gathering. The countryside setting is stunning, and the hosts made us feel at home with their warm hospitality. They really made the visit special. The local food was fresh, full of flavor, and each dish was excellent. I’d recommend this place to anyone passing through Italy, whether they’re on a motorcycle or simply looking for somewhere to relax. A big round of applause for Leandro and his team, they make a real difference.

Even though I was the only guest during a quiet midweek, off-season stay, they offered to open the kitchen and make me dinner. The service was impeccable, and the homemade cheeses and cured meats were delicious. The rooms were clean and cozy, the staff friendly and very helpful, and the price was good. The setting feels like something out of a fairytale, and it’s a beautiful place to stay while hiking. Well worth the trip. I’ll have to come back. Many thanks!

We should have written this back in August 2022, after our self-guided walk from Bologna to Florence, but better late than never. Coming all the way from Perth, Australia, we were trying to make the most of our time and then everyday life took over once we got home. This is a magnificent place tucked into the mountains. Our room was comfortable and well appointed, and the service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, kind, knew their stuff, and made us feel right at home. We loved the restaurant too. The young head chef was brilliant, the food mouthwatering, and the wine delicious. Our waiter was a lovely guy who kept us chatting. I only wish we’d had another day there, we could have stayed up all night drinking wine and talking with him. I can’t recommend Agriturismo Il Passaggere enough.
