The apartment was clean and had been renovated in recent years, but we struggled to get useful information. I asked twice before our arrival how to reach Fiumicino City and was told to take a taxi. Only after paying €15 for one did we learn that a direct bus from the airport costs €1 per person. There was no printed guide in the apartment, and I couldn't reach the owner by phone. When I texted after she was unavailable for my call, her reply came the next morning: “use whatsapp.” We had expected internet so we could check the weather, transport, Rome attractions, and check in for our flight, but apparently only WhatsApp was available, which I don't use. At arrival, we had to press a button at the gate, and she came over after about 15 to 18 minutes.
