Antico Canto del Centro

The building has a lift, but our attic room was at the top of the stairs. It had been advertised as “raggiungibile rampa,” meaning “accessible ramp.” Pretty disappointing, and nowhere near luxury.

My husband and I spent two nights at Antico Centro Suites and absolutely loved it. The room was great, and the location was fantastic. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The apartment is huge, with plenty of room to relax in the living area, where there’s a couch and TV. The bed was a little firm, and street noise came through, especially on weekends, though a noise-cancelling machine helped. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful, even though they’re not on site; it’s a short walk across the piazza to reach them. You’re right by the Duomo, with all the attractions easy to reach on foot. We had a wonderful stay in beautiful Florence.

For our one night in Florence, the clean, nice room and convenient location worked really well, and I’d stay again. The check-in desk was in another building, but the receptionist messaged the address that day, gave us good restaurant suggestions, and helped with the tram when we checked out. We’d asked for two separate twin beds but got one queen. That wasn’t a deal breaker for a single night, though next time I’d check a couple of days ahead that they can meet the request. I’d recommend this place.
