B&B Hotel Firenze City Center

Breakfast was very good, though it cost extra, and the location wasn't especially convenient. We knew about that before booking. The problem was the room: it was so cramped that moving around the bed was difficult, and the old, worn mattress left me with back pain. The bathroom was tiny too, with the toilet right beside the sink, and the shower pressure stayed very weak throughout our stay. For the price, the room's comfort and condition didn't make sense. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

For a family of four, booking two rooms worked out well, since the limit at the time was three people per room. My wife and I had a room with two twin XL beds pushed together as a king, plus a pullout sofa and a fridge. The kids' room had two twin XL beds but no fridge. Our bed had flexible, memory foam mattresses on a frame, and we had two memory foam pillows, two towels, and two hand towels. In April the air conditioning wasn't running, as was also the case at our other hotel in Venice, but that was fine for us. With the windows open at night, though, street noise was loud. Breakfast was an upgraded continental spread on the "R" floor, two floors up but not "floor 2". It cost extra, reasonably, and was handy. The lobby was decent, with basic snacks, toiletries, and cold drinks for sale, including beer. Not luxurious or packed with perks, but sufficient and good value as a budget option.

Rooms are clean, comfortable, and practical for a short visit, though they're simple rather than luxurious. The hotel is in a quieter area, about a 20-25 minute walk from central Florence, with the main sights accessible from there. Public transport is available if you need it. Staff were friendly and helpful, and my recent stay went smoothly. A sensible budget pick for a short city break.

Alessandro at reception and Manuele were especially friendly, polite, and funny. The rest of the reception team were supportive and welcoming too. My room was clean, comfortable, and well cared for, and the hotel had a calm atmosphere. I had a very pleasant stay, would gladly come back, and highly recommend it.
